The LaPerm originated in the United States in the 1980s when a tabby barn cat had a litter of six kittens and one was born completely bald. When her fur finally grew it was unusually curly and exquisite.
The LaPerm’s distinctive coat can be wavy or curly, but they are not always long haired. Their colouring also varies. They are a medium sized cat and can be quite heavy.
LaPerms are sweet and gentle and affectionate to their owners. Although they enjoy snuggling up, they are a very intelligent and active breed. They enjoy the company of both adults and children, and get along well with other cats and animals. This makes them an ideal family pet.
GROOMING AND CARE
Although the coat of the LaPerms can be long and curly they require minimal grooming.
