We recently added a new piece of equipment to our anaesthesia monitoring equipment. It is called a Veterinary Vital Signs Monitor. This new machine is able to monitor a number of things on our patient. These include blood pressure, temperature, amount of oxygen in their blood, respiration rate and heart rate. It also has an electrocardiogram or ECG function that can detect heart abnormalities.
Although we currently monitor all of these they are now in one handy device. These are all very important to monitor and help us to keep your pets as safe as possible while under anaesthesia.
